A stolen cookie is only useful while its session lives. The MustLive Session Extending Method keeps a hijacked session alive indefinitely by replaying periodic requests carrying the stolen cookie at an interval shorter than the experimentally determined session lifetime. It defeats sites that fixed Insufficient Session Expiration, leaving closing the XSS as the only real defence.
