RøB: Ransomware over Modern Web Browsers

Demonstrates that the browser File System Access API combined with WebAssembly is enough to build ransomware that runs as an ordinary web application, encrypting a visitor's local files including cloud-synced directories, external drives and network shares, while existing anti-ransomware defences fall short. Three layered mitigations are proposed.
