A Simple Generic Attack on Text Captchas
A single pipeline built on Log-Gabor filters segments and recognises the characters of text CAPTCHAs whatever anti-segmentation trick a scheme uses. It broke schemes from Google, Microsoft, Yahoo and Amazon at 5 to 77 percent success in under 15 seconds on an ordinary desktop, letting an attacker automate account creation and other bulk abuse.
