A study of commercial web-based device fingerprinting: the scripts then sold by fingerprinting firms were analysed for what they collect beyond documented browser APIs and how widely sites deployed them. It also showed that user-agent spoofers and anti-fingerprinting extensions frequently make a browser more distinctive rather than less. IEEE S&P 2013.
