De-cloaking in IE7.0 Via Windows Variables ha.ckers.org web application security lab
IE7 expands Windows environment variables written as %name% when a URL is pasted into the address bar, so a link containing %computername% or %appdata% returns the machine name and the user's home path to the logging server. An update notes it also works in IE8 when placed in a path; no way was found to fire it without user interaction.
