0DAY: QuickTime pwns Firefox
A QuickTime media-link (QTL) file whose qtnext attribute carries a javascript: URI executes in Firefox, and with the -chrome switch runs with chrome privileges. pdp shows the payload launching calc.exe via nsILocalFile and nsIProcess, and notes the XML can be saved under any of ~60 QuickTime extensions (mp3, mov, avi, png) to mislead the victim. Cross-platform; iTunes ships QuickTime.
