Web pages Detecting Virtualized Browsers and other tricks
Shows how a web page can tell whether the visiting browser runs in a VM, so malware can withhold payloads from analysis sandboxes. Non-standard screen dimensions read from JavaScript give windowed VMware away, and a Java applet reads MAC addresses whose first three octets identify VMware. Extends to detecting private browsing, NoScript and visited intranet hosts.
