Researching Polymorphic Images for XSS on Google Scholar
Polymorphic images carry a valid XSS or JavaScript payload while surviving server-side reprocessing by placing it in EXIF metadata, after the image trailer, in PNG iDAT, or in a JPG entropy-coded segment tuned to survive re-encoding. When such an image is uploaded and served same-origin, as on Google Scholar, it executes script and can bypass a self CSP.
