Cracking hashes in the JavaScript cloud with Ravan
HTML5 WebWorkers remove the freezing problem that made JavaScript useless for password cracking, and modern engines reach roughly 100,000 MD5 hashes per second. Since visiting a link is enough to enlist a browser, the work distributes freely: about 110 browsers match one machine of native code. Ravan is the resulting distributed cracker for MD5, SHA1, SHA256 and SHA512.
