[1801.02265] Deep Fingerprinting: Undermining Website Fingerprinting Defenses with Deep Learning
A convolutional neural network classifies encrypted Tor traffic traces by the site that produced them, so a local eavesdropper learns which website a user visited without breaking the encryption. It reaches over 98 percent accuracy on undefended traffic and over 90 percent against WTF-PAD, defeating the lightweight defences that had blunted earlier fingerprinting attacks.
