Back to the (Clip)board with Microsoft Whiteboard and Excalidraw in Meta (CVE-2023-26140)
Examines the Clipboard API as an under-analysed source of untrusted input, since any page can silently rewrite what a visitor copies. In Excalidraw, pasted element data carried a link value assigned to an SVG anchor's href, permitting a javascript: URL that static analysis rules missed, while Microsoft Whiteboard accepted an attacker-supplied iframe sandbox attribute whose permissive values, such as allow-top-navigation, redirected the host application (CVE-2023-26140).
