Clickjacking Rootkits for Android
An NC State press release on work by Xuxian Jiang's team. They built a proof-of-concept rootkit attacking the Android application framework rather than the operating system kernel, so an infected app can hide and replace any installed app. The demonstration swaps the browser for a look-alike that harvests banking and card details, and no mobile security product detected it.
